Founder and CEO
Prior to founding Fireside, Mr. Langer spent sixteen years at Goldman Sachs. While at Goldman Sachs, he was a Partner, Head of North American Investments and Global Head of Hospitality Investments. After leaving Goldman Sachs in 2010, he was an Operating Partner at Bain Capital and the Chief Executive Officer and President of NorthStar Realty Finance Corp (formerly NYSE: NRF).
Mr. Langer is currently a member of the board of directors of Collective Retreats, Concert Golf Partners, International Market Centers, National Express Wash, Ooedo Onsen Holdings, Port 32 Marinas and KKR Real Estate Finance Trust (NYSE: KREF). Prior board experience includes Hilton Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: HLT), Icon Parking, Kerzner International, Morgans Hotel Group (formerly NASDAQ: MHGC), Strategic Hotels & Resorts (formerly NYSE: BEE) and Westin Hotels & Resorts.
Mr. Langer graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Duggan is involved in all the firm’s investment, capital formation, and operating activities.
Throughout his nearly 20-year career as an investor, Mr. Jensen has worked for several investment firms including Citadel Investment Group where he was a Deputy Director of Research within Aptigon Capital, Visium Asset Management where he was US Director of Research, and York Capital Management, where he began his career as an analyst. Most recently, Mr. Jensen was a Managing Director at i80 Group, a specialty finance fund that provides debt capital to FinTech and PropTech companies.
Mr. Jensen graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in Biological Anthropology from Harvard College, and he received an MBA from Harvard Business School with distinction.
Stephen is involved in all the firm’s investment, capital formation, and operating activities.
Prior to Fireside, Mr. Mashaal was a Vice President on the investments team at Colony NorthStar (and its predecessor business, NorthStar Realty Finance Corp, where he worked with Mr. Langer). At NorthStar, he was involved in over $3 billion of investments, including the formation of NorthStar’s hospitality platform.
Mr. Mashaal graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Boston University.
Andrew is involved in all the firm’s new business opportunities as well as investment, capital formation, and operating activities.
Prior to Fireside, Mr. Shein worked across management consulting at Prophet Brand Strategy, venture capital at M13 Ventures, real estate at AJ Capital, and startups at Walmart’s technology incubator. Mr. Shein has also pursued a number of entrepreneurial ventures in travel, hospitality, and entertainment.
Mr. Shein graduated with a B.S. in History & Consumer Psychology from The University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Marc Falcone is a Fireside Operating Partner with a focus on investments in the gaming, hospitality and leisure sectors.
Mr. Falcone worked at Red Rock Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ: RRR, formerly known as Station Casinos) from 2009 to 2017, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Prior to joining Red Rock Resorts, he worked at Goldman Sachs with Mr. Langer, where he was on the gaming and lodging investments team. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was a Senior Analyst at Magnetar Capital, LLC and a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Falcone graduated with a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
Howard Karawan is a Fireside Operating Partner with a focus on investments in the hospitality industry.
Mr. Karawan brings a wealth of experience within the hospitality sector, including senior leadership positions at Kerzner International, where he worked with Mr. Langer, and Fountainebleau Resorts. While President and Chief Marketing Officer at Kerzner International, he oversaw the launch of the Atlantis, Paradise Island and spearheaded the creation and launch of the One&Only Resort brand. Most recently, he was hired by Brookfield as President and Managing Director of Atlantis Paradise Island.
Mr. Karawan holds an MBA from the State University of New York with a concentration in Marketing and Finance and a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
